Gethsemene Headstone Adoption Program
In 1998 the Florida Saving Graves Commission did a survey and out of the approximately 4000 known cemeteries throughout the state of Florida, they discovered that nearly 50% of them are either completely abandoned or severely neglected.
Since most of us will eventually be in what will be known as a historic cemetery it is up to us NOW to preserve these historic sites. The many pioneers, settlers, veterans of every war, and victims of cholera and yellow fever need our help to keep their memories alive into the future.
The headstone adoption project at Gethsemane Cemetery helps to provide funds for the historic preservation & restoration of this site. There are thirty-six different headstones available for adoption. For $10 each you can choose any one or more of these historic headstones and it will be your adopted headstone for one full year. You will receive an adoption certificate complete with a photo of your headstone, suitable for framing, and a cemetery etiquette card to keep in your wallet. All of the proceeds from these adoptions directly benefits Gethsemane Cemetery.
There are few to no funds made available to these historic sites through municipalities, so we, DBPRG, Inc., Haunts of the World‘s Most Famous Beach Ghost Tours & Raven‘s Loch Publishing House, our members & staff have taken on the work of restoring as many of these sites as we can. We adopted Gethsemane Cemetery in 2000 and have made great strides in it’s preservation and restoration...but we still have a long, long way to go. With your help, we can continue our tireless work and commitment to the fine folks laid to rest in this historic site.
Gethsemane Cemetery is located on S. Orchard St. in Ormond Beach, FL.

Mt. Arrarat Headstone Adoption Program
We are currently working on purchasing headstones for those less fortunate than ourselves at Mt. Arrarat Cemetery. These beautiful small granite stones include the persons full name, date of birth, date of death and one extra line with scroll work on either side of the stone.
There are so many fine folks in need of a real headstone that the members of The IACP, Inc. have teamed up with a stone carver in WV who is giving us a great deal on these beautiful solid granite stones and now here's how you can help. By adopting a headstone in our Mt. Arrarat adoption program, you will actually be purchasing a headstone for someone who is unable to afford one for thier loved one. Imagine being able to help a young family who has lost thier infant by adopting a headstone and having it placed at their babies final resting site for them. These stones, including shipping, placement and a certificate--suitable for framing can be purchased for only $30.00 US! Your contribution is also tax deductible! Please help us to help these families to get the closure they and their dearly departed deserve by adopting a headstone today!
